Ohio man charged in Duquesne Heights shooting that left man in critical condition

Pittsburgh police investigate an incident Wednesday morning along Grandview Avenue in Duquesne Heights.

Pittsburgh police have arrested an Ohio man in a shooting in the city’s Duquesne Heights neighborhood that left another man in critical condition.

Police were called just after 3 a.m. Wednesday to the scene in the 1400 block of Grandview Avenue.

Neil Toalston, 27, of Alliance, was charged later Wednesday with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and a weapons violation. He was placed in the Allegheny County Jail to await a preliminary hearing.

Police said they arrived at the scene to find a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Medics took him to a local hospital in critical condition.

Additional information wasn’t immediately available.
