A man was rescued from Mt. Washington on Sunday after getting stuck while trying to retrieve a drone, Pittsburgh Public Safety said.

Police, firefighters and medics responded shortly after 4:30 p.m. for a report of a man being lost and trapped on the hillside between the Wabash Tunnel and PJ McCardle Roadway.

Police did not identify the man, described as middle-aged and from out of state. He was caught on the hillside above a steep dropoff after trying to rescue his drone that he had lost.

It took an extensive climb using harnesses, ropes and ladders to reach the man and get him to safety, police said.

Medics evaluated the man, who said he was not hurt and refused being taken to a hospital.
