Man shot dead in McKeesport — the 4th slaying this week and 5th in a month
Another person has been shot to death in McKeesport.
Allegheny County Police said the latest incident took place around 5:45 p.m. Friday along the 1200 block of Park Street.
First responders found Robert Moore, 58, of McKeesport suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at UPMC McKeesport Hospital.
No information about possible suspects was released. County homicide detectives are investigating.
Friday’s victim is the fourth slaying within the past three days, and just short of a full month since a police officer was killed and another officer injured in the line of duty.
Three people died and two were injured in connection with two shootings in McKeesport Wednesday.
Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Robert Joyner, 47, of Pittsburgh died after being shot around noon along the 3100 block of Versailles Avenue.
The second shooting happened near the No. 50 building in the Crawford Village housing complex around 1 p.m.
Police said first responders found three men shot there.
One was dead at the scene. Another man died later at a hospital after he was shot in the chest, while an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg.
The deceased were identified as Jerred Dunkin, 22, of Turtle Creek and Jordan Eubanks, 30, of McKeesport.
Police said the two Wednesday shootings are not connected.
McKeesport Police Officer Sean Sluganski, 31, was killed while responding to a call just after noon Feb. 6.
Someone requested a mental health check of Johnathan Jermia Morris, 31, along the 1400 block of Wilson Street.
County police said Morris was walking away from officers when he opened fire on Sluganski and his partner, Chuck Thomas, 35.
Sluganski was fatally wounded and Thomas suffered several injuries.
Morris was shot by another McKeesport officer nearby. That officer was not wounded.
