Man shot, dies in Lincoln-Lemington

A man was shot to death Sunday in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood, according to authorities.

Police responded to the 7100 block of Everton Street around 6:20 p.m., according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Officers found a man with gunshot wounds in the stairwell of an apartment building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Tayrod Euegene Ford, 40.

Police have detained two people for questioning.

The investigation continues.

Earlier in the day, police responded to shots fired near a youth football game in the 1400 block of Oberlin St.

No one was injured but the game was called off for safety reasons.
