A man was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday in Pittsburgh’s South Side Slopes neighborhood, according to police.

Police officers and paramedics were called to the 1700 block of Arlington Avenue around 1:20 a.m. for reports of a man shot.

Police said a citizen flagged down a police officer and directed the officer to a man who was in the driveway of an American Legion building. The man had been shot in the side. Police said the officer rendered aid and notified paramedics, who took the man to a local hospital in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported. Police did not have a description of any possible suspects as of Sunday morning. The investigation remains ongoing.
