One man was stabbed and a clerk was injured in an altercation Tuesday morning at an East Liberty gas station, according to Pittsburgh police.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. at a Sunoco station on North Highland Avenue, Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said. The station is across the street from Pittsburgh Obama Academy.

Police arrived and found a clerk with head wounds from where he’d been hit with something, and medics found another man with stab wounds on the sidewalk not far from the gas station, Cruz said.

Medics transported the man who’d been stabbed to the hospital in critical condition. The clerk with the head injuries was taken to the hospital in stable condition, Cruz said.

Police did not release any information regarding possible suspects or arrests.
