An Upper Hill man will serve 26 to 60 years in prison after he was sentenced Thursday for a 2018 shooting death.

Montay Bailey, 32, of Upper Hill, was found guilty of third-degree murder and a firearms count in June following a non-jury trial before Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Anthony M. Mariani.

According to the criminal complaint, Bailey killed Shawn Dillard, 27, on April 13, 2018. He was shot in the head in the 1800 block of Cliff Street in the Hill District.

Police said Bailey was retaliating against members of the Darrcide gang in St. Clair Village, who he believed were responsible for killing his best friend, Tyrone Noaks, who was shot on Feb. 2, 2018.
