McKees Rocks man pleads guilty to storing guns, drugs, machine gun part
A McKees Rocks man caught with methamphetamine, fentanyl and an illegal Glock switch that converts handguns into fully automatic weapons pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to drug and gun crimes.
Reginald Blunt, 32, pleaded guilty to drug trafficking and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon before Senior U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer.
He will be sentenced on August 15.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, the FBI and state police were investigating a drug organization in McKees Rocks between August 2022 and last June when they learned that drugs and guns were being stored at Blunt’s residence.
A search warrant executed on June 14 resulted in the seizure of prescription pills, a loaded handgun, a Glock switch, 60 grams of a fentanyl and methamphetamine mix, 20 grams of fentanyl, 1,000 rounds of ammunition and $4,300.
Investigators learned that the gun was the same one Blunt used to threaten another man on May 16, 2023, during an altercation at the home.
Police said that traffic cameras showed Blunt repeatedly pointing it at a man carrying a child.
The man ducked behind a vehicle to avoid Blunt before Blunt allowed the man to put the child in a car. He then brought the man back to the porch of the house where the two exchanged punches, the traffic cameras showed, according to prosecutors.
Blunt has a previous criminal record, including convictions for selling drugs and strangulation, and is not permitted to have guns.
