McKeesport homicide suspect arrested in Larimer, officials say
A Pittsburgh man suspected in a deadly McKeesport shooting last year has been arrested, authorities said Wednesday.
Detectives from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office arrested Vernon Eutsey, 27, of Hazelwood, in the 600 block of Paulson Avenue in the city’s Larimer neighborhood, spokesman Mike Manko said.
Eutsey has been a fugitive for 17 months after county police charged him in connection with the April 2022 killing of Michael Gunter, 22, of McKeesport, Manko said.
Gunter was shot following an argument inside a liquor store at Fifth and Market streets in McKeesport, Manko said. Gunter was shot multiple times and died later at a hospital, police said.
Eutsey was charged with criminal homicide, recklessly endangering another person, a firearms charge and two counts of tampering with evidence, court records show.
He was in police custody Wednesday afternoon but had not been arraigned yet, Manko said. No attorney was listed in the court records.
