A McKeesport teen wanted in connection with the 2021 shooting of a girl in Clairton has been arrested, Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus said Friday.

Anthony Gibson, 18, was charged in May 2021 after police said he fired multiple shots near the Soft Serve and Dee-Lights ice cream shop along Clairton’s Miller Avenue. Two of the shots struck a 16-year-old girl in the back and leg.

Gibson, who was 16 at the time of the shooting, was charged as an adult with aggravated assault and firearms violations, Kraus said. He posted bail and left Allegheny County Jail shortly after his arrest.

In November, a bench warrant was issued for Gibson’s arrest after he failed to appear for a status conference involving his case, Kraus said.

Detectives found Gibson this week at a home in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood and arrested him without incident, Kraus said. Gibson, who is being held in Allegheny County Jail, will face additional firearms charges because he was found with a handgun, the sheriff said.
