A Millvale man is accused of violating federal law regarding the sexual exploitation of a minor, U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti announced March 23.

A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh indicted Robert William Bauer, 65, on two counts.

According to the indictment, Bauer knowingly transported child sexual abuse material on Feb. 23, 2024, and knowingly possessed material depicting child sexual abuse on Nov. 13, 2025.

Bauer faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $500,000.

The FBI conducted the investigation that led to the indictment.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort the Department of Justice launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
