Police filed charges against the mother of teen reported missing from West Mifflin on Thursday after the teen was found safe.

Evelyn Liddell, no age given, of Las Vegas is charged with false reports to law enforcement, interference with custody the of children, concealment of the whereabouts of a child, and obstruction of justice.

Allegheny County Police say the 13-year-old was reported missing by her biological father and searches of the area were fruitless. Then, police say, Liddell notified police that the girl was safe and with her in Las Vegas. After contacting Las Vegas police, Allegheny County investigators say they were unable to confirm the girl was there.

On Saturday morning, according to police, both Liddell and the girl were found in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh and Liddell was arrested.

The girl was returned to her father, who is her legal guardian, and Liddell was placed in the Allegheny County Jail to await arraignment.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477); callers can remain anonymous. The department can also be reached via its social media sites.
