Police filed the following charges Aug. 26 through Sept. 1 in District Judge Jeffrey L. Herbst’s office. All charges were filed by Monroeville police unless otherwise noted:

• Charles P. Newhams, 41, of Pitcairn with strangulation, public drunkenness, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, making terroristic threats and simple assault in connection with an incident along the 400 block of Eleanor Street in Pitcairn. Charges were filed by Pitcairn police Aug. 26.

• Ronald Lenhart, 45, of Monroeville with simple assault and strangulation in connection with an incident along the 600 block of Pinefrost Drive in Monroeville. Charges were filed Aug. 27.

• Jerome C. Taylor, 48, of Homestead with retail theft in connection with an incident along the 4000 block of Monroeville Boulevard. Charges were filed Aug. 29.

• Antonio A. Spencer, 32, of Bridgeville with two counts of cruelty to animals in connection with an incident on Rosecrest Drive in Monroeville. Charges were filed by Animal Friends officers Aug. 29.

• Forkpa Howard, 30, of Philadelphia with forgery, two counts of possessing instruments of crime, criminal conspiracy and dealing in the of proceeds of illegal activity in connection with an incident along the 2700 block of Mosside Boulevard. Charges were filed Aug. 30.

• Mario Mondesir, 35, of Elmhurst, N.Y., with forgery, two counts of possessing instruments of crime, two counts of dealing in the of proceeds of illegal activity, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property and driving while operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license in connection with an incident along the 2700 block of Mosside Boulevard. Charges were filed Aug. 30.

• Antionette Saunders, 41, of Wilkinsburg with robbery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest in connection with an incident along the 400 block of Broadway Boulevard. Charges were filed Sept. 1.

• Travis Brown, 31, of Monroeville with strangulation, harassment and simple assault in connection with an incident along the 1100 block of Harvard Drive. Charges were filed Sept. 1.
