Monroeville police are investigating a child luring attempt made April 12 at Garden Park in the municipality’s Garden City neighborhood.

A teenage babysitter of a 5-year-old said a man tried to grab the child in the park about 4:30 p.m., according to police Chief Doug Cole.

The alleged assailant was described as a white man, about 5-foot-9, between the ages of 50 and 60 who is bald on the top of his head with white hair on the sides. He had a gray mustache.

Cole said the man was wearing dark-rimmed glasses, a red shirt and black pants and may walk with a limp.

The child was not injured.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Monroeville police at 412-856-1111.
