Circle of Courage Awards scheduled in Monroeville

Lee Robinson will perform at the Pittsburgh Circle of Courage Awards on Aug. 4 in Monroeville.

The 13th annual Pittsburgh Circle of Courage Awards is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Aug. 4 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 101 Mall Blvd., Monroeville.

Awards honor individuals who show faith and courage in their respective careers. Award categories include religion, government, education, business, medicine, art, media, military, missions and sports.

The event will feature music by saxophonist Lee Robinson, a silent art auction, vendors, dinner and inspiring stories from the awardees:

Jacqlyn Boggs, education and missions; Eric Cofield, health and business; Parrish Davenport, business and music; Dr. Danielle Davis, business; Corey E. DeRico, government; Pastor Bill Galus, religion; Pastor Gary Germany, music; Eric Howze, military; Kristin Huibregtse, missions; Chardae Jones, government; Ebony Lunsford-Evans, education; Sylvia Lynn, missions; George C. McClure, religion and medicine; Martha Jane Moore, missions; Diane Bowman Neely, missions; Scott Pavlot, art, education and missions; Cathy Pschirer, missions; Daved Richardson, missions and education; Rev. Dr. Dale B. Snyder, religion; Bradley Wilkins, business; and Derrick Wilson.

Proceeds from the event will benefit BCC Ministries, a ministry of Brown Chapel AME Church, a historic landmark serving the community for over 180 years. The church provides community breakfasts, administers a food bank, and offers counseling, teaching and other services.
