A concert featuring a blend of Scottish, Irish, folk and classical music is scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. June 14 on the Monroeville Public Library Lawn.
In case of rain, the concert will take place in the library’s Gallery Space.
Performing as a duo are violinist Charles May and cellist Paula Tuttle
May began studying traditional classical violin at age 8 while growing up among a family of folk musicians. His rich and vibrant musical background led to a fusion of classical and folk music, as he performs both as a solo strolling violinist and an orchestral musician.
Tuttle is a member of the Pittsburgh Opera and Ballet Orchestras. She also is the solo cellist for PBS’s My Music Orchestra, Latshaw Pops Orchestra and the Diamante Orchestra. She teaches cello at the University of Pittsburgh, Chatham University and Carnegie Mellon University.
The library is located at 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd. For more information, visit www.monroevillelibrary.org.

Grief support group
New Paths Grief Support Group meets at 2 p.m. Thursdays at Monroeville Public Library.
The group gathers to meet the needs of the bereaved. Led by Doreen Krut, bereavement coordinator at Amedisys Hospice Care, meetings offer those who mourn the opportunity to share their loss, get counsel in the hard work of the grieving process, and gain new direction. It is open to all whose common bond is grief following a significant loss.
At each meeting, participants support each other emotionally, share information and concerns, and learn new insights into the grief process. Together, we can find our own unique strengths to begin a new path.
