A.R. Building’s apartment complex in Baldwin is pictured. The company has stated the Fox Plan apartments in Monroeville will have a similar look.

Monroeville council approved the site plan for two apartment buildings that a developer plans to construct along Fox Plan Road.

A.R. Building expects the structures to be four stories with a total of 112 units. There will be studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

Monthly rents will run approximately $1,100 and up, said Jason Kambitsis, director of land development for A.R. Building.

Construction was supposed to begin in August, but the firm’s engineers found issues with some of the land’s soil, said Geoff Campbell, architect with Rothschild Doyno Collaborative.

The previous plan involved constructing two buildings on the property’s southern end, where Monroeville Boulevard acts as a boundary. Now, both buildings will sit farther up on the property and be divided by an outdoor common area with a pool.

The Seven Fields-based company has nearly 9,000 apartments and townhomes in nine states.
