Divine Mercy Academy in Monroeville switched to remote learning this week due to four positive covid cases and staffing concerns, Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh officials announced Wednesday.

All athletic practices and games were also suspended until Monday, when in-person instruction is expected to resume.

Officials said school families were notified of the situation and will be updated as necessary.

“We are so thankful for the understanding and flexibility of our families while we navigate through this difficult time,” Principal Angela Manchini said via release. “We understand how stressful these situations are for everyone involved. Our top priority remains the health and safety of our students, families and staff. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.”

All school buildings will be cleaned and sanitized consistent with Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

There is no impact on events at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish.
