Drug, theft cases among those recently handled by Judge Herbst in Monroeville
Monroeville District Court Judge Jeffrey Herbst handled these cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Charges were filed by Monroeville police unless otherwise noted.
Waived preliminary hearings
• Howard Freeman Jr., 36, of Pittsburgh on charges of possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. State Attorney General’s Office filed the charges Sept. 19.
• Joseph Williams II, 36, of Braddock on charges of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. Charges were filed Aug. 9.
• Michael Nelson, 33, of Turtle Creek, on charges of forgery. Charges were filed March 6.
• Jennifer Blumling, 31, of Pitcairn on charges of endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person and obstructing administers of the law. Pitcairn police filed the charges Sept. 30.
• Amber Batzel, 35, of Pitcairn on charges of retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed Sept. 12.
• Travis Batts, 39, of Bellwood on charges of possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed Aug. 1.
• Lashawn Denise Barber, 44, of Pittsburgh on charges of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and harassment. Charges were filed Aug. 23.
• Michael Warnick, 52, of Pitcairn on charges of possession of controlled substances, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pitcairn police filed the charges Oct. 3.
