DUI, drug cases among those handled by Monroeville Judge Herbst in January

Monroeville District Court Judge Jeffrey Herbst handled these cases recently. Defendants will have court dates set in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Charges were filed by Monroeville police unless otherwise noted.

Held for court

• Matthew Cavanaugh, 39, of Turtle Creek on charges of possession of controlled substances and driving with a suspended license. Charges were filed Oct. 6.

• Ancel Calloway, 28, of McKeesport on charges of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Pitcairn police filed the charges Sept. 15.

Calloway went before the judge on another case. Charges of criminal mischief, defiant trespass and disorderly conduct were held for court. Pitcairn police filed the charges Sept. 6.

• Archie Donald, 31, of Plum on charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver, turning movements and required signals, improper sunscreening and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection. Charges were filed Jan. 11.

Waived preliminary hearings

• Nevin Edwards, 48, of Pitcairn on two counts of retail theft. Charges were filed Nov. 22.

• Javonne Swinton, 25, of Pittsburgh on charges of criminal trespass, conspiracy and theft by unlawful taking. Highmark Health police filed the charges Dec. 4.

• Kara Estochin, 46, of McKeesport on charges of driving under the influence, disorderly conduct, depositing waste on the highway and restrictions on alcoholic beverages. Charges were filed Nov. 19.

• Jazma Mason, 32, of Monroeville on charges of access device used to obtain property/service. Charges were filed Nov. 8.

• Alexander Shissler, 28, of West Mifflin on charges of driving under the influence and failure to yield to emergency vehicle. Charges were filed Oct. 30.
