Gateway gears up for new school year

On Wednesday, Aug. 15, the Gateway Marching Band took to the practice field for a full ensemble run through of their 2019-20 halftime show, “The Flock,” featuring music from the “Firebird Suite,” “Vienna Teng,” and original music written for the Gateway Band. Zachary Blackburn and Nick Nikou practice with the brass section at band camp.
Gateway School District’s first day of school is Aug. 22.
The district’s orientation programs help new students get acquainted with their classrooms and teachers, while summer camps and practice programs prepare athletes and band members for a new season.
