Monroeville Public Library book sale set for June 12
The Monroeville Public Library presents an outdoor “Books N’ at Sale” for one day only, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 12 (rain date will be June 19).
Fill a Library-supplied bag with items for $10. If you don’t want a whole bag, donations can be made for individual items. Items will include books, CDs, DVDs and puzzles.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for a chance to win a Summer Fun Basket. The Kona Ice Truck will be on site from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with flavored shaved ice for sale.
The sale will take place at the lower parking lot of Monroeville Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd., Monroeville.

• Rebecca D Dawson (fine arts-applied media arts), Dylan K Ritenour (fine arts-applied media arts) and Samantha Mauro Betters (psychology) were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2021 semester at Edinboro University. In order to attain dean’s list status, students must maintain a GPA of 3.4 or higher, complete a minimum of 12 semester hours of credit and receive no grade lower than a C in any course.
• Lauren Miller and Asher Passalinqua of Monroeville were named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2021 semester at Grove City College.

Garden City UMC Food Pantry
Garden City UMC Food Pantry, 500 Laurel Drive, is open.
Distributions will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month. Call 412-373-0391 for an appointment. Face masks are required.
The 2021 food distribution dates will be: June 10, July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9.

English as Second Language group
An English as a Second Language (ESL) Conversation Group is held at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month at the Monroeville Public Library.
Participants can meet other English language learners for informal and guided conversation practice, including reviewing pronunciation, learning new vocabulary and possibly discussing short ESL readings suited to the interests and abilities of attendees.
