A man nearly drowned in a Wilkins Township motel pool Monday, officials said.

First responders found the man, an adult “in his 30s,” unresponsive in the pool at a Rodi Road motel, police confirmed. Authorities did not release his name.

“This was not a suspicious incident, and appears to be accidental,” Wilkins Township police Chief Randy Lamb told the Tribune-Review.

The man was taken to an area hospital by Woodland Hills EMS, Lamb said. He could not provide an update on his condition, as of 5 p.m.
