‘200 Years of Brewing’ program

Monroeville Public Library welcomes Richard Ober, lead author of “200 Years of Brewing in Allegheny County,” for a program scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 5.

The Ober Brewery featured on the book’s cover is Richard’s family business and one of many German breweries once located in the Allegheny City/Manchester area of Pittsburgh. In addition to Allegheny County’s brewing history, Ober will discuss the historical process to make and flavor beers using fermentation and local ingredients.
