Monroeville council will hold its monthly citizens night and workshop meeting at 7 p.m. on June 3 at the municipal building on Monroeville Boulevard.

Upcoming public meetings include:

• June 3: Monroeville council citizens night and council work agenda, 7 p.m. at the municipal building, 2700 Monroeville Blvd. An agenda is available in advance at Monroeville.pa.us.

• June 9: Pitcairn council combined workshop/council meeting, 6 p.m. at the council chambers, 609 Broadway Blvd.

• June 10: Monroeville council voting meeting, 7 p.m. at the municipal building. An agenda is available in advance at Monroeville.pa.us.

• June 17: Pitcairn Planning Commission meeting, 6 p.m. at the council chambers.

The following events are scheduled at the Monroeville Convention Center, 209 Mall Plaza Blvd.:

Camp Invention events

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to take part in Camp Invention, a nationally recognized summer enrichment program, which will be held at several locations this summer in Monroeville.

Each year, the program features curriculum inspired by the new class of inductees at the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

It will be at Gateway Middle School, 4450 Old William Penn Highway, from June 9-12; and at the Monroeville Church of the Brethren, 481 Center Road, on Aug. 11-15.

Food pantry

The Garden City Food Pantry will host a food distribution day from 9-11 a.m. and 6-7 p.m. June 12 at 500 Laurel Drive in Monroeville.

Distributions will take place on the second Thursday of each month. Additional distribution days will be July 10, Aug. 14, Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11.

Association of University People

The Association of University People invites potential new members to join them at an event.

The association invites singles age 50 and older, who are four-year college graduates, to join them for activities and to meet new people. Activities include picnics, monthly dinners, a book group and meetups at local concerts and wineries.

Divine Mercy Academy cheer camp

Registration is open for Divine Mercy Academy’s Saber Summer Cheer Camp, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. June 23-26. This year’s theme is “Neon Lights and Saber Nights.”

Camp is open to all school students entering kindergarten through eighth grade in the fall. Students will learn basic cheerleading skills while building school spirit and teamwork. A showcase for family and friends will be held June 26.

Students will receive pompoms to use at the showcase and then take home. Register by June 1 to receive a free Sabers Cheer T-shirt. The fee is $30; payment (cash or check made out to DMAAA) can be dropped off or mailed to Divine Mercy Academy, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville, 15146.
