Alexa Dunn of Monroeville was named to the president’s list at James Madison University for the spring 2020 semester. Students who earn president’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade-point average of 3.90 or higher. Dunn is a kinesiology major.

Jamey Baker of Monroeville, an undeclared - business major, was named to the president’s list at Coastal Carolina University for the spring 2020 semester.

Megan Coates of Monroeville was named to the dean’s honor list at Cedarville (Ohio) University for the spring 2020 semester. This recognition required Coates to maintain a 3.75 GPA and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Giri Viswanathan of Monroeville, a 2020 Shady Side Academy graduate, was awarded a National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) Virtual Summer Intensive scholarship to study Hindi language for five weeks. NSLI-Y is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs that promotes critical language learning among American youth. Viswanathan, was selected from approximately 3,000 applicants across the country.
