Bigfoot and UFO researcher and author Stan Gordon will be at the Monroeville Home Show this weekend.

Homeowners looking to make some changes to their abodes can get everything they need at the Monroeville Convention Center this weekend.

Kelly Simon Event Management is presenting the fifth annual Monroeville Home Show.

It’s scheduled for 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 209 Mall Plaza Blvd.

More than 200 exhibitors will be on hand offering information and services for home building, remodeling, decorating, gardening and more.

They include Style-Rite Kitchens, Squeegee Squad, Ark Basement Services, Soldier Solutions, Baker’s Waterproofing, Doghouse Quilts, Gourmet Cupcakes, Legacy Remodeling and USA Insulation.

Event coordinator Kelly Simon said she’s expecting a large crowd.

“I’m very happy with the progress that’s been made, and it just keeps getting bigger and better every year,” Simon said. “We wanted to bring celebrities every year … We brought a lot more variety as far as exhibitors are concerned. We repeat the things that work.”

Author Terrie Christine is among the celebrities this year. She’s an intuitive life coach and was on the Real Housewives of Potomac.

UFO and Bigfoot researcher Stan Gordon is scheduled for all three days and plans to have a panel discussion on the latest sightings in the state.

“Pittsburgh Dad” Curt Wooton will be on hand Sunday afternoon for autographs and photos.

Representatives from home-based businesses such as Arbonne, Avon, Damsel in Defense, Pampered Chef and Paparazzi Just the Right Bling will have various items available for purchase.

“In one place, in one weekend, they can walk in (and see) everything from awnings to patio rooms to everything that you can possibly imagine that you would need for your home or garden,” Simon said. “The people that are manning the booths know their products inside and out. The homeowners can touch the products. They can feel them. They can be demonstrated for them.

“They’re not looking at a static picture in a catalogue or an internet site. They can get everything that they need to know in one place, and it works out really well.”

Special areas include:

  • Kids Kingdom with costumed characters, face painting and a bounce house among other activities.
  • Wine Pavilion by Starr Hill Winery of Clearfield County with at least 20 different wines to sample and purchase by the glass or by the bottle.
  • Author’s Avenue featuring local authors of books on a wide range of topics such as haunted houses and Bigfoot.
  • An entertainment stage with cooking demonstrations, live music and talks on food, health and home buying.

Tickets are $5 for adults. Children 11 and younger get in free.

People who bring a nonperishable food item for the Cross Roads Presbyterian Food Pantry or pet food for local pet shelters get a buy-one, get-one-free admission.
