The Monroeville Public Library, 4000 Gateway Campus Boulevard, will host the following events. Registration is required for some programs at MonroevilleLibrary.org, where a full calendar of upcoming events is posted. Call 412-372-0500 for more information.

• July 10 at 6 p.m. — Classic Film ‘Maltese Falcon’: In this noir classic, detective Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) gets more than he bargained for when he takes a case brought to him by a beautiful but secretive woman (Mary Astor).

• July 14 at 6:30 p.m. — Prepping Horticulture for Flower Shows: Marilyn Backus, District VII garden club director, national garden club judge and member of Garden Club of Monroeville since 2011, advises how to show horticulture to be judged professionally, and explains the mechanics of how flower shows work and what to expect.

• July 15 at 7 p.m. — Belly dancing with Amethyst: A brief lecture on the history and practice of belly dance, demonstration and lesson on some of the opening moves.

• July 16 at 7 p.m. — Monroeville Poets Online: From formal to experimental verse, all poems are welcome. Words can help to create community and reach across distances.

• July 16 at 2 p.m. — Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support Group: Led by Amy Landman, memory care advisor at Arden Courts Monroeville, this group will meet monthly to provide support for those who are dealing with this difficult situation.

• July 17 at 6:30 p.m. — Crochet Club: Get together with other crocheters to work on projects, chat about the craft and have fun.

• July 21 at 6:30 p.m. — Jewelry Making: Learn to make beautiful, lovely earrings from scratch and experiment with different styles and combinations. Materials provided, so bring your creativity and imagination. Cathie Vallas-McKinzie has owned Reflections from the “C” for the past 14 years, a jewelry and recycled art business using mixed media to create artistic pieces.

• July 23 at 7 p.m. — Trio Granata Indoor Concert: A variety of music from this cello/harp/flute trio.

• July 23 to August 27 (Wednesdays) at 5 p.m. — Grief Support Group: An adult grief group hosted by Marcia Jones-Washington, bereavement coordinator at Good Samaritan Hospice.

• July 28 at 7 p.m. — Show-and-Tell For Adults: Historical pieces, gadgets, trinkets, books with a history - bring whatever you have and let others know what you think is cool.

• July 30 at 5:30 p.m. — Financial Literacy: Representatives from Huntington Bank discuss ways to better approach your finances.
