Monroeville resident, optometrist adds 'author' to list of achievements
Monroeville resident Dr. Elisa Beth Haransky-Beck holds many titles, including optometrist, wellness practitioner, consultant, coach, somatic yoga instructor, educator and speaker.
She founded Sustainable Monroeville in 2009 and Vegan Spirituality-Southwest PA in 2019. Along with several organizations, such as the League of Women Voters and Protect Penn Township and Trafford, she also co-founded Reimagine the Turtle Creek Watershed and Airshed Communities.
In February, Haransky-Beck added “author” to her list of titles when she released her book “Enlivening Consciousness: Deepening Your Journey through Vision, Movement, Nutrition, Nature and Spirit.”
“A central part of the book includes stepping into a healthier lifestyle,” Haransky-Beck said. “Especially through food choices, connecting to nature and integrating spiritual practices into your daily routine.”
Since 1987, Haransky-Beck’s optometry practice has included natural eyesight improvement and assisting clients with vision-related learning issues, ADHD, autism and traumatic brain injuries.
“At this stage of my personal and professional development, I’m ready to share with larger groups of people,” said Haransky-Beck, who also developed two educational courses titled “Comfortable Computer Eyesight” and “Deepening Insight through Improving Eyesight.”
“I’m on my game right now and I want to share it,” said Haransky-Beck. “I wrote so people will have accessible and straightforward tips and tools to rise to their highest potentials.”
She and her husband Stan have lived in Monroeville since March 1993. Their daughters, Laura and Rachel, both graduated from Gateway High School.
