A Wilkinsburg man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a woman police had been searching for was found shot dead at a Monroeville apartment complex, Allegheny County Police reported.

Monroeville police were dispatched at about 3:15 p.m. for a reported homicide at the Cambridge Square Apartments.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Joselyn Thomas, 18, of North Versailles.

Police said Albert Williams, 18, was responsible for the murder. Detectives were determining late Wednesday the charges to be filed in consultation with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.

A preliminary investigation indicated Thomas was reported missing from North Versailles at 1:20 p.m.

North Versailles and Allegheny County Police were searching for the victim when Monroeville officers were notified of her location.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line 833-ALL-TIPS (833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
