PAN coin show keeps rolling at the Monroeville Convention Center

Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists’ spring coin show keeps rolling at the Monroeville Convention Center this weekend.

More than 100 dealers and collectors have set up shop in the center. Some are from West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.

Doors open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 209 Mall Blvd.

There are U.S.-minted coins from as far back as 1793 and early forms of paper money from 1776. Some displays feature ancient Greek and Roman coins valued in the hundreds and thousands of dollars.

Featured lecturer at the show is author Rick Lank. He will present “Money, Mayhem & Might: How the Civil War Changed our Money … And How Money Changed the War.”

PAN is a non-profit educational state organization founded in 1978 consisting of individuals and coin clubs throughout Pennsylvania and the United States. The association is dedicated to promoting the hobby of coin collecting through coin shows, lectures, seminars, a published journal, and an electronic newsletter.

The association usually has shows in Monroeville in the spring and fall.
