Police identify body discovered on Monroeville hillside

Allegheny County Police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a Turtle Creek woman whose body was found on a hillside in Monroeville on Saturday afternoon.

Shortly after noon, emergency officials were called to the 500 block of Rosecrest Drive in Monroeville, where they discovered the body of Christina Spicuzza, 38, of Turtle Creek, according to the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner.

The hillside is in a wooded area that leads uphill toward Monroeville’s Pioneer Park.

Social media posts, including a public post by Spicuzza’s husband Brandon Marto, indicate Spicuzza was working as an Uber driver the last time they spoke, on Thursday. Marto says in the post that when she did not return home and couldn’t be reached by phone, he reported her missing on Friday.

Uber officials said their public safety team is assisting county homicide detectives with the investigation.

“Our thoughts are with Christi’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the company said in a statement.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county’s tip line at 833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

Additional information was not immediately available.
