PennDOT will have long-term single-lane restrictions in place starting May 1 as road work begins on William Penn Highway through Monroeville, Churchill and Wilkins.
Beginning at midnight on Monday, westbound traffic will cross over to the eastbound lanes at the bridge over Lower Rodi Road. Single-lane traffic in both directions will be in place until mid-July as crews do the work.
In addition, the ramp from northbound Lower Rodi Road to eastbound Route 22 will be fully closed through mid-June.
The work is part of a $23.84 million Route 22 preservation and rehabilitation project.
In 2024, PennDOT will fully close the ramp to Monroeville Mall as that section undergoes rehabilitation work.
The full project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2024.
