Steel City Con at the Monroeville Convention Center has been postponed until June.

Steel City Con, the official pop culture and comic con of the Monroeville Convention Center, has been postponed amid coronavirus concerns.

It was originally planned for April 17-19 at 209 Mall Plaza Blvd.

It’s now rescheduled for June 12-14.

One of the many regulations health officials announced this month, designed to slow the spread of the virus, was to limit events and conferences to 10 people or less.

“We did not take this difficult decision lightly knowing that our vendors as small businesses are struggling to survive through this unprecedented situation,” event co-owner Bob Stein said. “Steel City Con also has an obligation to our fans by providing them enough advance notice in order to modify your travel plans. For those of you who are booked in the convention center hotel, there are no fees to cancel your reservation.”

Officials are working to change ticket dates via Showclix.

People who cannot attend in June can save their ticket for a future convention. All VIP packages and presold autographs will be transferred. Refunds will be given in the event celebrities are unable to make the June show.

The spring show was stacked with special guests including horror icon Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), Jon Bernthal (“The Walking Dead,” Marvel’s “The Punisher”), Freddie Prinze Jr. (“She’s All That,” “I Know What You Did Last Summer”), “Saturday Night Live” alum Jon Lovitz, WWE Hall of Famers Jesse “The Body” Ventura and Rikishi, and other “The Walking Dead” stars Steven Ogg, Cailey Fleming, Avi Nash and Alanna Masterson to name a few.

A “Mash” reunion with Loretta Swit and Jamie Farr, along with a “Revenge of the Nerds” reunion with Donald Gibb, Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong, were also on the ticket.

“We are working to move over the existing guests and secure new ones,” Stein said. “Please be patient with us as we deal with this unprecedented situation. We want to thank fans for standing by us and for their patience. As small business owners we did not take this lightly as we realize impact our events have on our community.”

Each exhibitor will still have their paid and guaranteed spots at the rescheduled show, organizers said. Those unable to exhibit in June could have their spot moved forward to the August show.
