The eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike were closed Thursday night, Jan. 6, 2022, as emergency crews responded to a crash shortly before 10 p.m. near the Monroeville exit.

The eastbound side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike was back open around 11 p.m., following a crash that shut down multiple lanes Thursday night.

The crash was reported shortly before 10 p.m. just west of the Pittsburgh/Monroeville exit.

911 officials said three lanes of the Turnpike were closed as crews worked to investigate the crash and clear the scene.

Additional information was not immediately available.

Due to an accident on I-76, Eastbound traffic is stopped at mile post 56.2, just West of the Pittsburgh Exit 57. There are delays Westbound as well. Avoid the area if possible & expect delays.
