Police say man tried to lure 5 kids into Wilkinsburg house
Wilkinsburg police say a man tried to lure five children into a borough house by pretending to be a police officer.
Police said Everantonio Cerrato-Orellana, 41, approached the children Sunday around 8 p.m. while they were riding bicycles in an alley near Center Street. Police said he dropped money onto the ground and told the kids to come grab it and come into a house. The children rode away and Cerrato-Orellana chased them saying to stop because he was a police officer, according to court papers.
The mother of the children identified Cerrato-Orellana as the man encountered by the group, ages 6 to 14. Cerrato-Orellana told police he was from Honduras and Mexico. He was hostile with an officer during the arrest, according to court papers.
He was arraigned Monday and was being held at the Allegheny County Jail without bail.
Cerrato-Orellana is charged with luring and impersonating a public servant. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A preliminary hearing is set for July 10.

Armstrong woman pleads guilty to abandoning dog at Pittsburgh airport
An Armstrong County woman pleaded guilty last week after police said she abandoned her French bulldog at Pittsburgh International Airport in August 2023.
Allison Lyn Gaiser, 46, pleaded guilty to a summary count of abandoning a dog and was ordered to pay a $150 fine, according to court records. Charges of animal cruelty and neglect of animals were withdrawn.
Allegheny County Police said Gaiser left the dog near the airport’s short-term parking lot in a stroller before getting on an Aug. 4, 2023, flight to a resort in Mexico. She tried to bring the dog on the flight, but it was denied boarding as it did not meet the criteria for an emotional support animal and didn’t have a proper kennel, according to a criminal complaint.
