Shooting in Beechview

A man is recovering after being shot Tuesday in the city’s Beechview neighborhood, authorities said.

Police responded at about 9 p.m. to the 1500 block of Rockland Avenue where they found a man inside a home with a gunshot wound to his buttocks, Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said.

The victim, who police did not identify, was conscious and alert. He was taken by Pittsburgh EMS to an area hospital in stable condition.

Witnesses told officers that a known male was inside the home when a fight broke out. The suspect fled prior to police arriving.

Charges are expected, according to police.
