Woman injured in serious crash in Beltzhoover

A woman was trapped in her vehicle after a serious crash Monday in Pittsburgh’s Beltzhoover neighborhood.

First responders were called to the 400 block of East Warrington Avenue for a single vehicle crash at 10:30 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m., EMS, Police, and Fire were dispatched to the 400 block of East Warrington Avenue for a single vehicle crash.EMS located an adult female entrapped & utilized EDraulic rescue tools to extricate the patient.Medics took her to the hospital in stable condition. pic.twitter.com/5AhH3pkZQT

EMS extricated a woman who was trapped in the vehicle and took her to the hospital. Officials said she is in stable condition.

Portion of Red Line closing for track replacement

Pittsburgh Regional Transit will temporarily close a portion of the Red Line starting Tuesday.

The closure of the Red Line between Westfield Station and South Hills Junction is expected to last through July 19 as crews replace tracks near Dawn Station that have been in use since 1982.

The transit authority said the project aims to ensure safe, reliable service in the coming decades.

A Red Line Rail Shuttle will operate inbound and outbound between Westfield and Overbrook Junction stations.

The Dawn Avenue bus stop on the South Busway, the busway ramp from West Liberty Avenue and the stairway to Dawn Avenue also will be closed during the project.

Winning lottery ticket sold at Pittsburgh Giant Eagle

A winning lottery ticket was sold last week at a Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood.

The winning Money Power Progressive game ticket is worth $461,456, Pennsylvania Lottery officials announced Monday.

The Giant Eagle along Brighton Road will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Money Power Progressive is a $20 fast play game, offering top prizes starting at $350,000. The fast play games are similar to scratch-offs but players don’t have to scratch a ticket or wait for a drawing, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Pittsburgh to host City in the Streets in East Liberty

On Tuesday, Pittsburgh officials will hold a City in the Streets event in the East Liberty neighborhood. The event aims to connect residents with local government services.

Representatives from all city departments will be at Liberty Green Park on Larimer Avenue from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
