Mt. Lebanon School District notified parents Wednesday that everyone inside district buildings will be required to wear masks starting Monday.

The mandate applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

The letter sent to parents said the district hopes “to maximize in-person learning and minimize any disruptions caused by covid outbreaks and community spread.”

Mt. Lebanon’s current health and safety plan can be found here.

The move comes as Allegheny County’s covid transmission rate has gone from the moderate to substantial level.

Mt. Lebanon School District has more than 5,300 students and more than 670 employees, according to its website.
