Fall bazaar among several upcoming events in Murrysville area

The Delmont Public Library will host a fall bazaar in its community room.

Delmont library to host fall bazaar

The Delmont Public Library will host a Sept. 11 fall bazaar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the library’s community room.

It will feature handmade items, homemade snacks, tech answers, a make-it-and-take-it children’s craft, iced tea samples, $5 used book bags and more.

Handmade items and gently used book donations for the bazaar can be dropped off Sept. 7 and 8 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the library, 75 School St.

International Women kick off 2021-‘22 year

The International Women group will kick off its new season with a Sept. 10 meeting, 9:30 a.m. at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road in Monroeville. The meeting will be a chance for members to catch up with those they haven’t seen during the pandemic.

The church’s usual babysitting service, however, is temporarily suspended due to health and safety restrictions.

First Presbyterian to hold tag sale

The First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville, 3202 North Hills Road, will host its 50th annual tag sale Sept. 24-25.

All profits will go toward the church’s mission commitments.

Grant applicants sought

The Community Foundation of Murrysville, Export and Delmont is accepting applications from nonprofit groups for ideas and initiatives to enrich the community.

Grants in the range of several hundred dollars will be awarded to organizations demonstrating a need for small sums to make a significant, long-term positive impact on the community.

The deadline for applications is Oct. 15. To receive an application, email Roberta Cook at rcook109@gmail.com.

Dog club to host charity golf tournament

The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania will host its annual charity golf tournament on Aug. 30.

It will take place at the Edgewood Country Club, 100 Churchill Road in Churchill.

The cost is $195 per golfer, or $65 for dinner only. The full price includes golfing, cart, beer, snacks, water and soda on the course, a golfer “goodie bag,” event t-shirt, lunch, dinner, door prizes, skill contests, raffle drawings and a hole-in-one contest.

• Export council, 6:30 p.m., Sept. 7 at the borough building, 5821 Washington Ave.

• Delmont council, 7 p.m., Sept. 14 at the borough building, 77 Greensburg St.

• Franklin Regional school board voting meeting, 7:30 p.m., Sept. 20 at the Murrysville municipal building, 4100 Sardis Road.
