Baseball history presentation
A guest speaker from the Heinz History Center will come to Murrysville on July 21 to give a talk on the history of Pittsburgh Pirates baseball.
It will be at 7 p.m. at the Sampson/Clark Homestead, 5332 West Pike Street in Murrysville. Overflow parking is available at Triangle Lane. There is no cost to attend.
Puzzle, Lego mini-sale
The Murrysville chapter of the American Association of University Women will host a used puzzle and Lego sale Aug. 4-5 at the Murrysville Community Library.
It will be from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. both days.

Chevy car show
Jim Shorkey Chevrolet in Murrysville will host the fifth annual All Chevy Car Show on Aug. 23.
It will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the dealership, 6730 William Penn Highway in Murrysville. Register a vehicle to display by Aug. 16 at Bit.ly/3IaiyfG.
Proceeds will benefit the Rhodes Cancer Foundation.

Delmont Daze
The annual Delmont Daze celebration will take place at 11 a.m. Aug. 2 at the borough’s Rose Wigfield Parklet on Greensburg Street.
The afternoon will include food trucks, live music and entertainment, a basket auction, crafters, vendors, a 1 p.m. parade through downtown and more.

‘Are You Smarter Than a Librarian?’
The Delmont Public Library will host a team trivia night, “Are You Smarter Than a Librarian?” at 5 p.m. July 16.
Teams of three will compete against the library staff and each other, answering question about everything from pop culture to books. The competition is for those ages 16 and up.

Murrysville Concert in the Park
The annual Murrysville Concert in the Park will take place from 4 p.m. to dusk Aug. 9 at Murrysville Community Park.
This year’s lineup features Landline Bluegrass at 5:15 p.m., the Nied’s Hotel Band at 8 p.m., and a third band yet to be announced.
The concert is free and open to the public, and the afternoon will include food vendors, games and fireworks at dusk.
The park is at 4056 Wiestertown Road in Murrysville.

Live music at Ginny’s
Ginny’s Neighborhood Pizza Joint in Murrysville will host live music events later this summer.
They include singer-songwriter Brian Genovesi from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 9, and Pittsburgh bluegrass group the Sweaty Already String Band from 7-10 p.m. Aug. 22.

Mother of Sorrows Community Festival
Mother of Sorrows Church in Murrysville will host its annual community festival Aug. 1-2 at the church, 4202 Old William Penn Highway.
It will feature a “Taste of Murrysville” food court staffed by local restaurants, live music by The Trucksters on Aug. 1 and The Lyin’ Hearts on Saturday, a kids’ zone, games of skill and chance for all ages, basket raffles and more.
Farmers market
The Murrysville Farmers Market is open weekly through the end of summer. It will take place from 3-7 p.m. Thursday evenings outside the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company at 3235 Sardis Road.

Scholarships available
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency is seeking entries from 2025-26 college students, graduate students and their parents to win a $2,500 scholarship sweepstakes from the PA Forward Student Loan Program.
Anyone who opts in to receive communications, which will include tips on planning for and paying for college, between June 5 and Dec. 15, 2025, will be entered into the scholarship sweepstakes. A total of 12 winners will be selected in August and in December this year, prior to each semester.
The PA Forward Scholarship Sweepstakes is open to Pennsylvania residents only.

Blood drives
Murrysville recreation officials will partner with the American Red Cross to host blood drives on Sept. 11 and Nov. 11. Drives will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Murrysville Community Center, 3091 Carson Ave.
