Garden club
The Murrysville Garden Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23 at the Murrysville Community Library.
The featured speaker will be Mary Jane Alvin, master gardener and a docent at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh. The program will be “Stained Glass in the Garden.”
There is no cost to attend.

Book and puzzle sale donations
The Murrysville branch of the American Association of University Women is collecting gently used books and puzzles for its fall book and puzzle sale.
The sale benefits the library and the AAUW’s speaker series, and will be held Nov. 6-8 at the library.
Donations will be accepted through Oct. 31. The following will not be accepted: musty or moldy books, encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks and puzzles with missing pieces.
Donations can be brought to the library, at 4130 Sardis Road in Murrysville.
Trunk or treat
Newlonsburg Presbyterian Church will host an Oct. 26 trunk-or-treat event from 3-5 p.m. as part of its annual fall festival.
The afternoon will include pumpkin carving and decorating, children’s games and more.
It will take place rain or shine.

Blood drives
Vitalant will host an Oct. 18 blood drive in Monroeville, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Monroeville Church of the Brethren at 481 Center Road.
Another drive will take place from 7 a.m. to noon Oct. 21 at AHN Forbes Hospital’s Learning Center, 2570 Haymaker Road in Monroeville.

Customer appreciation, car show
The Murrysview Shoppes will host a customer appreciation day and car cruise on Oct. 18.
It will include special offers, giveaways and a prize wheel from 1-5 p.m. and a car cruise from 3-7 p.m. at the shopping center, 5030 William Penn Highway in Murrysville.
The afternoon will also include mobile mini golf, a ticket drop for Y108 FM’s “Star Spangled Banner” event from 2-3 p.m., face painting, gift basket raffles, emergency vehicle displays and more.
There is no cost to attend.
Autism expo
Autism Connection of Pittsburgh and the Jefferson Center for Autism and Neurodiversity will host the 2025 Autism Safety Expo on Oct. 17-18 in Monroeville.
The two-day event will promote safety in the home for people of all ages and stages on the autism spectrum. Topics covered will include legal safety, medical safety, community and social safety, technology and adaptive tools, care-giving and family support, and first-responder engagement strategies.
It will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 and 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 18, at Monroeville Volunteer Fire Company 4, 4370 Northern Pike in Monroeville.

Leaf collection
The Murrysville officials announced curb-side leaf collection dates for the fall. Collections will take place Oct. 25, Nov. 8, Nov. 22 and Dec. 6.
To schedule a pick-up, residents must fill out a registration form at Murrysville.com. There is a 20-bag limit for each collection date. The deadline to sign up is the Thursday prior to collection.

Fitness business opening
Fitness franchise F45 Training is opening a branch in Murrysville. Founded in Australia, the chain has expanded to more than 3,000 locations in 64 countries, and combines several exercise disciplines into high-energy group workout sessions.
The Murrysville location will be in the Murrysville SportZone at 4491 School Road South. Classes are typically 45 minutes. Owners Logan Summerhill and Aidan Carlisle said they plan to open in mid-October. To celebrate the opening, they are offering a limited-time VIP experience for $45, which includes two weeks unlimited access to the studio in advance of the official opening.

Storybook Trunk or Treat
The Delmont Public Library will host a Storybook Trunk or Treat event from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29 in the library parking lot at 75 School Street.
Walk from trunk to trunk collecting treats and watching stories come to life, and stop by the Salvation Army truck for food and drinks.

Outdoor band show
The Franklin Regional Panther Marching Band will host a community outdoor show at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at Panther Stadium. The evening will include food trucks, a 50/50 raffle, raffle baskets and performances by the marching band and the Steel City Drumline.

Corn maze opens
The corn maze at Gearhard Farms in Murrysville has opened for the season. The maze is open from 5-9 p.m. Monday, 12-9 p.m. on Saturdays and 12-7 p.m. on Sundays.
The cost is $8 per person for the corn maze, and hayrides are also available at $6 per person. Children 4 years old and younger are admitted to both free.

CROP Walk at Duff Park
The 46th annual Church World Service CROP Walk will take place on Oct. 12 at Murrysville’s Duff Park.
The goal of the walk is to raise money to fight hunger worldwide. The route will run along 3.5 miles of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail, beginning and ending at the Duff Park shelter with a water stop mid-way at the Murrysville Community Center.
Sign-in will begin at the shelter at 1 p.m., with the walk stepping off at 1:30 p.m. To be a walker, sponsor a walker or donate to the walk, call 724-327-0061. Register online at CropHungerWalk.org/murrysvillepa.
Trail trick-or-treat vendors sought
The Murrysville Recreation Department is seeking vendors for its annual “Trick or Treat on the Trail” event, which will take place this year in a new location, Murrysville Community Park, from 12-2 p.m. Oct. 25.
There is no cost to volunteer as a vendor. Vendors will pass out treats during the event.
