Patients of Murrysville chiropractor Aaron Tressler have good reason to be confident in his skill with physical health — the 55-year-old will compete with a rugby team Thursday through Saturday at the Huntsman World Senior Games in Utah.
“Age does not determine your ability, nor should it hinder you from playing all-out, all your life,” Tressler said.
The New Alexandria resident has been playing rugby since 1987, was part of a 1994 national championship team at Life University and is currently the eldest player on the Greensburg Rugby Football Club.
“I’ve always been the underdog, the smallest and youngest kid, but I was determined to succeed,” he said. “I use my ability to inspire my family and patients.”
Tressler is the owner of In8Life in Murrysville. He is also president of the Chiropractic Fellowship of Pennsylvania and host of the “Restoring Innate Health” podcast.
The Huntsman World Senior Games is the largest annual multi-sport senior competition in the world. In addition to the athletic competitions, the nonprofit organization also provides senior education on active aging.
Tressler said staying healthy and active has played a big role in not just his overall health, but overcoming sports-related injuries.
“I’ve had many injuries over the years with rugby, and just with playing hard, including rotator cuff tears, meniscus tears, several concussions, several broken ribs and my latest, at age 49, was my fractured scapula,” he said. “Through all the injuries, I’ve overcome them through chiropractic care, exercise, nutrition and supplements and my belief that God created an incredible healing body if we work it.”
