Mark Persichetti of Export brought home two first-place finishes at a barbecue competition held Aug. 8 and sponsored by the Export Moose Riders.

Persichetti took first place in both the pork loin and people’s choice categories.

Grace Keibler, Jacob Ross, Caleb Scutt and Colleen Zilka of Murrysville and Sarah Krieger of Delmont earned their degrees from Grove City College in May.

A formal ceremony is slated for Oct. 3 during the college’s homecoming festivities.

State Rep. Bob Brooks, R-Murrysville, along with officials from FirstEnergy, both recently made $5,000 contributions toward the relocation of the Export veterans monument.

The monument will be moved from the American Legion post on Kennedy Avenue, closer to downtown Export, where it will be situated near a replica of the borough’s former train station.

Megan Remaley of Murrysville graduated magna cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, during a virtual commencement in mid-May.

Remaley earned her bachelor’s degree in education with a focus on early childhood education.

Alexander Berardinelli of Export graduated from Colorado College this spring.

Berardinelli earned his bachelor’s degree in history.

Kevin N. Cox and Kara L. Miller of Murrysville were named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at Edinboro University.

Burke Beauregard of Export was accepted into Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine’s Primary Care Scholars Program, which focuses on family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics.

Primary Care Scholars pay no tuition and receive a monthly stipend in exchange for becoming a Geisinger-employed physician in one of several targeted specialties.
