Volunteers from Pittsburgh-area Sam’s Club locations helped to clean up the Miracle League of Western PA ball field in Murrysville and participate with players in one of the season’s first games on Tuesday.

It is part of the Sam’s Club Day of Service. Volunteers also presented a $5,000 grant to support the Miracle League.

“We’re happy to help these kids play the game they love and want to thank our local Sam’s Club volunteers for helping to keep the ballpark in great shape for our athletes to thrive on the field,” said Miracle League President and Co-founder Rev. Harold Hicks.

“We care about our neighbors, and this is an opportunity to help our community,” said Sam’s Club Senior Manager of Community Relations Matthew DeStefano, one of the volunteers.
