This weekend kicks off holiday events in Murrysville, Export and Delmont

• Export Light Up Night will take place at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6 outside the Export Volunteer Fire Department on Washington Avenue. The evening will include the lighting of the borough Christmas tree and an appearance by Santa.
• First United Methodist Church will host a tree-lighting ceremony Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, 3916 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville. Visitors can learn about the life of Jesus, and there will be activities for adults and children along with cookies and hot chocolate.
• Santa at Sardis: A Holiday Celebration will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Sardis Park on Rocky Hill Lane in Murrysville. The afternoon will feature games, activities, s’mores, a bonfire and a visit from Santa. For more, see MurrysvillePArecreation.com.
• The Masterworks Concert Chorale will present “Christmas In Germany,” a choral concert featuring Beethoven’s “Mass in C,” on Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, 3618 Hills Church Road in Murrysville. Tickets are $15 and can be ordered online at TalentShadows.event or by calling 412-874-7514.
• The Murrysville Historical Preservation Society’s final 2019 open house at the Hoey/Hoy/Staymates Cabin will be Dec. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at 4515 Round Top Road in Murrysville. The cabin will be decorated for the holidays, and visitors can learn about its history while enjoying cookies and a drink.
• Acting Up, an inclusive theater troupe for actors of all abilities, will stage three performances of “The Grinch” this month at First Presbyterian Church in Murrysville. Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13, and at 5 and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the church, 3202 North Hills Road in Murrysville.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Those attending the Dec. 13 also have a chance to attend the “Whoville Whobalation,” which will take place at 6 p.m. with hot chocolate, cookies, Whoville pudding, crafts, a story and a sing-along. The cost is $10 and includes admission to the play.
