No-Cook Tuesdays are close to returning to Bethel Park.

“People love it,” Lindsey Sibert said. “I have lots of people tell me that they look forward to it and they can’t wait every week.”

As manager of the Bethel Park Recreation Farmers’ Market, she also organizes the Tuesday events featuring food trucks and their fare as an alternative to preparing meals at home, plus a market vendor selling farm-fresh eggs, freshly cut flowers and bulbs to get gardens started.

The season’s first No-Cook Tuesday is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. March 7 in the parking lot to the south of Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave. The event continues at the same time and place through the end of April.

After that, it’s time for the farmers’ market, which takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays beginning May 2 at 30 Corrigan Drive, in the parking lot next to the South Park skating rink.

“We have a good number of vendors that are coming back, and we’re always taking applications for vendors,” Sibert said, a process that can be done through the market’s website, which has a new look this year. “You can expect some of your favorite things and the reasons you come to the market, like fresh produce and food trucks.”

In response to inquiries received last year, the market also will feature information about programs offered at the community center and by the recreation department, and Sibert hopes to have instructors visit to present demonstrations.

And when the weather cooperates, musicians will perform, hoping to have a good response from market goers.
