For students looking for a summer job, the Career Exploration and Opportunity Fair might be just the place to find one.

The job fair will be held March 16, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the North Allegheny Intermediate High School, off Cumberland Road.

A summer employment, internship, and volunteer opportunities fair will take place 6 to 7 p.m. followed by an information and panel discussion at 7 p.m. Speakers will focus on the future of work and how to prepare for careers.

Some companies participating in the career fair include North Allegheny School District, Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream, David’s Bridal, North Hills Community Outreach, Arden Courts, Town of McCandless, Texas Roadhouse, The Y, Franklin Park Borough, UPMC, Goldfish Swim School, La Roche Center for Lifelong Learning, Penn State and University of Pittsburgh Career Center.

Also, representatives from Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber, the state Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Partner4Work and the northwest region president of the Community College of Allegheny County will be on-hand. Staff from NASD will be available to issue student work permits.

The event is a North Allegheny Community Connections seminar. Community Connections provides seminars and discussions on topics relevant to families in the school district throughout the year.
