The owner of a North Fayette day care center pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to failing to pay payroll taxes.

Rebecca Lynn Boyce, 43, of North Fayette, will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan on Sept. 20. A federal grand jury indicted Boyce in April 2021.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said Boyce owned Cutie Patootie Daycare from 2006 through 2019. From March 2015 through December 2018, the government said, Boyce employed staff and withheld payroll taxes from them but failed to turn the money over to the IRS quarterly as she was required to do.

As part of her plea agreement, Boyce will pay nearly $300,000 in restitution.
