McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center on 830 Aufman Lane is hosting several fund-raising events in October.

Several October events will benefit the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center on 830 Aufman Lane in McCandless.

A Par 3 Masters Golf Outing will take place on Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. at Par 3 at North Park on Ingomar Road in McCandless. Play costs $75 per golfer or $300 for a foursome. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available. Call 412-526-1414 for tickets.

This is followed up with the North Park Photography Opening on Oct. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m., at the center. Event includes a wine and cheese gallery reception, live music, silent auction and raffle. Local photographers will display North Park photography. Tickets cost $25 and are available at the McCandless Town Hall or townofmccandless.org.

“The North Park Photography Exhibition is a partnership with some of the photographers involved with the ‘Friends of North Park’ Facebook page. They take and share beautiful landscapes and wildlife photos. While some photographers are professionals, most in the group on display in October are amateurs. We’re thrilled to give them a venue to share their work,” said Abby Lucostic, executive director of the heritage center.

Next up is Notorious North Hills Volume II, “Storytelling of our nefarious history,” on Oct. 27, at 7 p.m., at the Lodge at North Park on North Ridge Road, Allison Park. The event features tales about the Biddle Boys, Evergreen Hotel, Strange Creatures, Ingomar in Flames, Blue Mist Road and more. Tickets cost $50 and include dinner, drinks, presentation, and silent auction.

“Notorious North Hills is a fundraiser that was developed and put on in 2019. We’re bringing it back this year with added stories and photos. Attendees are encouraged to come in early 1900s costumes or even as one of the featured ‘notorious’ residents,” she said.

All funds raised benefit the operations and programming at the Heritage center.

Tickets for the photography and storytelling are only available at McCandless Town Hall or the heritage center, cash or check only. Tickets can be reserved by calling 412-364-0616, Ext. 300.

Proceeds benefit the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center’s programming and operations.
